Clifton Government Relations primarily serves nonprofits in Tennessee that seek to understand and impact public policy. We educate, consult with, report to, monitor for, and ethically lobby on behalf of our nonprofit client groups and the people they serve. We represent organizations with public policy concerns related to state and local governments.
Working at the state level for the public policy concerns of the nonprofit client. Many of these concerns are on behalf of the organizational client while others impact the clients those organizations serve.
Organizing long and short-term public policy agendas for the organizational client to undertake, with varying degrees of hands-on help from Clifton Government Relations depending on the client’s needs.
Keeping close track of legislative and administrative developments over a variety of subject areas. Communicating progress on bills and other legislative measures to keep all clients up to date.
Educating staff, board, and volunteers in basic and advanced public policy advocacy on the state or local level. Teaching proper protocol for visits to the capitol and meetings with legislators.
